Before and After: Southern Oaks House

Well, it's time. After nearly six months of scattered weekends, vacations, and finally a little concentrated effort, I'd consider G-Ma's house made-over. We tore out carpet and linoleum, painted walls and floors, switched out old light fixtures for new, and hand-built a slew of furniture. With just under $3000, we achieved our goal. Let's take a look room-by-room, shall we?

And that's it! Whew, that was a long tour. We still have a lot of touch ups on projects, and a lot more to take care of. But the bulk has been done, and this house is now so far and away from what it was before. We took a typical outdated, dark old house and made it a beautiful space to live. Our transformation is complete, and now I'm taking a month off for bed rest!

So amazing!! I am in awe! And so much in such a short time! That is amazing! You need to have your own show!

Nicely done. Did I see that you painted the floors throughout? How is that working for you?

Thanks Annie! Painting the floors was the best choice we made. It cost $80 total for the entire house. Can't beat that! I'd recommend springing for a poly clear coat, however. We have had a few chipping/scraping problems, but it's so easy to touch up. I love that it's super low-maintenance and it's easy to clean spills and dog messes. Plus, I love the look1
